U.S. News and World Report names librarianship one of the top careers in 2008!
Their narrative description is a bit simplistic, but I do agree that it is an underrated career.

It is nice to be recognized, but I'm a bit dismayed to see them say police officer is an overrated career; better to be in Homeland Security where you can serve and protect without ever having to be actually threatened or get inconveniently scheduled to work at night. Sheesh.
